Can Words With Friends have 3 players?

There is currently no way to have 3 players in a game in Words With Friends. However, there are a couple different routes you could go if you are looking to play with more than one person. If you are wanting to play with friends, you could simply set up a casual tournament amongst yourselves.

A three-person tournament would be set up where Player 1 and Player 2 first play each other. The loser, Player 2, would then play against Player 3 for either second or third place. After that game, Player 3 would go against Player 1 even if they previously lost. When that game is finished, if Player 3 won but lost their first match the tournament is a draw because each lost and won a single game. If Player 3 lost but won their first match they would end up in second place.

If you are simply wanting to play against more than one random person, you can join a Lightning Round team game which allows you to play on a team of 5 against 5.
